Portrait of three Papua New Guinea natives in 1944

Gift of John M. Lynes Sr., from the Collection of The National WWII Museum
Description:

Portrait of three Papua New Guinea natives. "Three visitors to camp, McNulty, McGinnis and O'Houlihan. The natives, on Sunday, in order to leave their labor camps must secure a pass from ANGAU. They are adept in making replicas of their native boats, carved animals, shell trinkets, etc., which they try to sell to the troops. They visit the nearby camps offering bananas, coconuts, etc., either for money (two bob, is a favorite demand), or cigarettes." Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. 1944
