1497. '14 July 44. Barry. At Tiger Field, 71st Inf. Div. Area, Fort Benning, Ga., Maj. Gen. R. L. Spragins, Commanding Gen. 71st Inf. Div. presents the Oak Leaf Cluster to 1st Lt. Milo D. Krichbaum 3rd Battalion, 14th Inf. The cluster represents the Silver Star Award which Lt. Krichbaum already possesses, this being his second award. Lt. Krichbaum, a native of Chicago, Illinois, achieved distinction under fire in Southern Italy, leading his command under severe rifle and machine gun fire from enemy troops to capture an important strong point. 168-L-44-1837.'
