American soldier sitting amongst ruins of buildings destroyed by the US Air Force. While most buildings were destroyed by the US Air Force we were able to find billeting at the University of Naples about of a mile from the dock area. Every night we were bombed by the Germans from the airport in Rome, many near misses but no direct hits on our ammo.' Naples, Italy. 1943
