Notice they have been trained to shoot with one hand on their hip. "Pistol range at 40th Div base camp, New Britain." Cape Gloucester, New Britain. September 1944. One soldier appears to be firing a .45 automatic, M1911A1. The soldier on the far left appears to be firing a .45 caliber M1917 revolver.
