Official Caption: "Rome, 7/4/45--New U.S. Warplane--This is the new Grumman Tigercat, powerful fighter-bomber for the U.S. Navy. Its two 2100 horsepower engines make it the Navy's fastest climbing plane and give it a speed in the 4254-miles-an-hour (670 KM) class. It climbs a mile (1.6 KM) per minute, carrying either two tons of bombs or a full-sized marine torpedo as well as rockets.
