Official Caption: "Rome, 6/16/45--Famed ship brings aid to Italy, Yugoslavia--From the holds of the liner 'Gripsholm' at Naples swing boxes of clothing and shoes for distribution in Italy and Yugoslavia by the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration. Collected during the United Clothing Collection headed by Henry J. Kaiser, American Industrialist, the clothing was turned over to UNRRA for distribution in Italy to both United Nations nationals and Italian refugees according to need, and in Yugoslavia to sufferers in devastated areas. In Naples, the famed 'mercy' ship took aboard 500 Greek refugees and headed for Greece where still more bales of clothing from America will be unloaded for UNRRA distribution.--UNRRA photo approved by appropriate military authority--Serviced by Rome OWI full. 6738."
