Short-Order Victory---Troops of the Army's 77th Division trot forward on Tokashiki Island in the Keramas after being landed by Navy manned assault craft on March 27, 1945. The soldiers quickly secured the base, set up heavy artillery to cover the Okinawa landings soon after.' 5 April 1945

The Charles Ives Collection consists of 719 photographs from the Pacific Theater of WWII. Many of the photographs were taken between 1944 and 1945. Mr. Ives inherited the photographs from a friend from Marblehead, Massachusetts who served as an aviator in the Army Air Corps and discharged as a Major in 1945.
