Tank Destroyer Replacement Training Center fake graveyard concealing a forward observation post in Camp Hood, Texas during WWII

U.S. Army Signal Corps photograph, Gift of Gil Andre, From the collection of the National World War II Museum
Description:

"44-4029. Call all TDRTC [Tank Destroyer Replacement Training Center] men. Are any of your friends "buried" here? This fake graveyard was built on the TDRTC camouflage area at North Camp Hood many months ago. The crosses, concealing a forward observation post, bear the names of TDRTC cadre, some of whom have moved on to other climes and some of whom still remain, perhaps with higher ranks. How many dead ones do you know? Public Relations Office. North Camp Hood, Texas."
