Official Caption: "Rome, 6/12/45--Port of Venice opens--Italian civilians and Indian troops unload supplies which arrived on eight coasters during the previous night at the recently opened port of Venice. Extensive sweeping, not yet completed, of main chanels [sic] leading to the port was necessary to remove a large number of mines before the port could be opened to shipping.
