1872. '3-23-44. Ecklund. These men of 353 Inf Regt are each carrying one case of 'C' Rations weighing 40 lbs out of 353 RSO up a trail along San Miguel Creek, HLMR, Calif. to their battalion supply area. The rations were brought to the RSO by mule from 89DSA who received the rations from III Corps by truck. HLMR Mtn. Man. 168-9-44-622.'
