1834. '3-22-44. J. P. Johnson. Radio Cpl Owen Curren receives message over S.C.R. 284 A Receiver-Transmitter set at H.Q. and Service Battery C.P., 609th F.A., 71st L. Div., during mountain maneuvers, while PFC Jay Gaplan sits at hand cranked generator ready to transmit. This unit keeps contact with Div. Artillery, Infantry units, and advance patrols.
