1485. '12 July 44. Ecklund. T/Sgt t. M. Newberry (left) and Sgt E. M. Mazzuca (back) of Co. E, academic Regt, TIS, are shown here filling a discarded 'Weather Balloon' with Hydrogen. The balloon will later be sent up for a demonstration for class 349A, OCS and will be shot down by a 30 calibre anti-aircraft machine gun, at Galloway Range, Fort Benning, Ga. 168-L-44-1825.'
