This collection contains items from the civilian service of Pendleton E. Lehde, who was the President of Pendleton Shipyard in New Orleans, Louisiana. The yard opened in 1941 and was located at the Florida Avenue Wharf. The shipyard handled the inspection of many smaller vessels that were built further upriver as well as the construction of Liberty ships. The collection consists of photographs depicting the construction and launching of ships at the shipyard from 1942-1944.
