Was reconstructed by the Franciscans in 1881 A.D. in the Grotto under the Church are the Chaple [sic] of St. Joseph (where the Angel advised Joseph of the flight to Egypt),* and the CHAPLE [sic] of the INNOCENTS (where the massacre of the children took place). Items from the service of Joseph B. Johnson, who was born in Slidell, Louisiana on July 29, 1910. He enlisted in the United States Army as a private in the Air Corps on October 10, 1942 and served in the Middle East as part of the U.S. Army Forces, Africa-Middle East Theater (AMET) with the 1264th AAF Base Unit, 63rd Air Depot Group. The collection contains a scrapbook, ephemera, and over 300 souvenir photographs from Johnson's service in the Middle East.
