The hospital ship USS Mercy as seen from the USS Rutland, probably off Okinawa in April 1945. From donor's notes: "USS Mercy before kamikaze attack." [The USS Mercy (AH-8) was not hit by kamikazes but one of three hospital ships commanded and crewed by the Navy for the Army, one of those three - the USS Comfort (AH-6) was hit by a kamikaze.]
