Official German caption on photo reverse, translated: "The 6 engine Me 323, one of the largest aircraft in the world. It is the brilliant design of the Messerschmitt works, which here in the east [illegible] months transports the most essential materials in the fastest way. The airplane carries almost 150 troops with equipment. The airplane has thirteen machine gun positions and is equipped with 6 air-cooled Gnome-Rhone motors. Smolensk, 15/3/42."
