Mud, mountains, and misery held no terrors for the powerful retriever shown pulling a bogged down scout car out of the mud in the vicinity of Lagaro, Italy. Members of the 6th South African Armored Division, converted this Mercedes Benz German half track, into a powerful retriever, using one of the Germans best pieces of equipment to defeat the purpose which it was built.
