Anderson of the U.S. southwestern state of New Mexico has been nominated to be Secretary of Agriculture by President Harry S. Truman in the U.S. He will succeed Claude R. Wickard who resigned from the post in the President's cabinet. Mr. Anderson, who is 49 years old, was in charge of rural rehabilitation and relief in New Mexico during the 1930's.
