U.S. Army Signal Corps photograph, Gift in Memory of Maurice T. White, from the Collection of The National World War II Museum
Description:

1840. '3-24-44. J. P. Johnson. Cargo mule train carrying Type C Food Rations, and other supplies along the steep firebreak trail to battery positions of 609th F.A., 71st L. Div. Water supply point and other supply dump are approximately four miles to the foot of ridge and mule trains can make only two trips a day due to the steepness of trail. This makes a shortage of especially water and ammunition. HLMR Mtn. Man. 168-9-44-589.' Army Signal Corps photograph Photographer: J. P. Johnson. 24 March 1944
