1272. 'View showing Capt. C. C. Bohannan, of the 71st Division Artillery sitting in the cockpit of his L-4 [Piper Cub] after crash landing in the woods one-half mile from the 71st Division Artillery air strip, Fort Benning, Georgia. After gaining an altitude of 100 ft., the motor of the plane failed, and not having enough altitude to make a return to the air strip, the plane was forced down into the trees, stopping two feet from the ground. 168-L-44-1360.'
