U.S. Navy Official photograph, Gift of Charles Ives, from the Collection of The National World War II Museum
Description:
Biak. "File No: 256602 October 26, 1944 'Beating Out' Boredom-- Despite the incessant activity, monotony sometimes tightens the nerves on shake-down cruises, with little chance for battle action in the offing. The 'hot and sweet' repertoire of this enlisted-men's band aboard the USS Iowa chased the blues during its war 'workout'." 26 October 1944
