Official Captions: "(Series of five) Rome, 6/9/45 -- U.S. Colonel visits Lombardia refugee camps -- U.S. Col. Charles Poletti, Allied Military Government commissioner for the Lombardia Region, made a tour of refugee camps in his area on June 4, 1945. He was accompanied by British Maj. E.F. Hertzel of the AMG [Allied Military Government] displaced persons and repatriation division, who is in charge of the camps. AMG is receiving and aiding the flow of refugees coming into Italy from Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
