'File Number: 48163 Feb. 23, 1945 'BUSANDA' marks 150th Anniversary of the Supply Corps 'Nerve center' of the Navy's Supply Corps, the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts, in Washington, D. C., [District of Columbia] celebrates the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Corps by staying on the job on February 23, 1945. The activities pictured in this series are but a few of 'BuSandA's' complex and integrated tasks. Nestled in trees at the left of the famed 'Reflection Pool' between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument are the temporary buildings 'I', 'J' and 'K' which house the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts-and which are almost completely occupied by the Bureau.' 23 February 1945

The Charles Ives Collection consists of 719 photographs from the Pacific Theater of WWII. Many of the photographs were taken between 1944 and 1945. Mr. Ives inherited the photographs from a friend from Marblehead, Massachusetts who served as an aviator in the Army Air Corps and discharged as a Major in 1945.
